Layout

Vertical, centrifugal, multi-stage pumps with horizontal suction and discharge ports. In WK pumps, the first stage consists of two rotors with their inlets facing each other. The rotating unit is mounted in sliding bearings and in a rolling bearing; in the case of WK pumps it will be a Michell type sliding bearing.
The bearings are lubricated with a pumped medium flowing along the shaft, and the rolling bearings with grease or oil (Michell only oil). Shaft sealing in stuffing boxes is made using mechanical seals or sealing cords.
To balance the axial thrust, a thrust roller bearing is used in the K pumps, and a relief drum and a Michell-type plain bearing are used in the WK pumps. An integral part of the pump is the tank, which forms a hermetically sealed unit with it.
